Although still in recuperation and training, Belfort says that he can’t wait to get back into the ring and show the world that he can still do this and be at the top of the middleweight division.

Affliction VP Tom Atencio recently talked about future plans for the promotion including a third show planned for January of 2009. Atencio also talked about trying to get a big fight that hardcore MMA fans have been talking about for some time. That of Tim Sylvia vs K-1 star Jerome LeBanner!

Atencio says “We are looking at Jerome LeBanner. He is interested in MMA and apparently him and Tim Sylvia have some history between them so that is something that we are looking at right now.”

LeBanner was really critical of Sylvia a few years ago stating that he did not think Tim was any good and that he wanted to fight him. Sylvia, who is coming off a big loss to WAMMA world champion and all around MMA god Fedor Emelianenko, is not at the best time in his career right now and would want to get a win and get back in the mix of things. He has lost to past and present champions in his last few fights and his only win in the recent past was a decision victory over Brandon Vera.
